Creating a Three Part Stamp

A stamp is born from an idea. This will be a three part stamp, offering lots of future creativity.

Each stamp is made with two layers of EVA foam. I use the kind with a sticky back, this was a game changer since I used to have to apply glue to each piece. I will add details to the top layer.

All three pieces cut and mounted.

Adding detail to the biggest circle.

all three mounted and trimmed.

Adding handles to the back. Over the years I have a very good idea of what I prefer in size of handle. It has to fit well within your hand, nothing too tall, nor too wimpy. Tape is very high tec...packing tape or masking tape.

Ready to stamp!

Using a piece of cotton canvas, thinking maybe this could be a table runner, tote or place mats. Not too much thought actually, I just want to print. And that's how I end up with a pile of "experiments"

Liking the registration. Was not looking for perfect, more on the lines of imperfect.

My printing pad loaded with various colours to go with my unfocused approach.

Pleased with how the stamp is taking the paint. Sometimes paint will transfer to the non printing parts(the cardboard back) and be a constant source of irritation.

All the elements come together nicely. What I envisioned came to be.....

Now to make it into something. Or I just pin it to my wall until I decide what to do with this piece.
